At St. Christopher's, we are Intentional Disciples passionately embodying Christ's love through action.
Our mission is to share God's love in practical ways.
Since 1961, St. Christopher's Catholic Church has been a steadfast presence in Melbourne's eastern suburbs. We have strong ties to the Pallottine Order and our patron saint, St. Christopher.
Inspired by St. Vincent Pallotti, canonised in 1963 and revered as a patron of the Second Vatican Council, we strive to awaken the laity to their divine calling. Like St. Vincent, we are dedicated to serving the marginalized and fostering holiness.
Our parish is named after the legendary St. Christopher, who carried people across a treacherous river, with one encounter revealing the weight of the world borne by Christ. "Christopher" means "Christ-bearer," and he is the patron saint of travellers.
Since 1961, the Pallottines have cared for our parish. Today, we are a vibrant community with growing young families with a stable school enrolment. Lay members actively participate in our mission.
Our ministries include caring for the sick, monthly anointing of seniors, children's ministry, a dynamic youth group, music ministry with several choirs, ecumenical collaboration, Syndal Community Helpers, and the St. Vincent de Paul Conference. We also serve local nursing homes and hospitals, including Waverley Valley Aged Care, Calvary the Highbury and Scotchman's Creek.
As we celebrate our service to the community, we look to the future with hope. May the grace that guided us from the beginning continue to inspire all who call St. Christopher's Catholic Church their spiritual home.
Join us on this journey of faith, love, and service. Together, we can make a meaningful impact and be Christ to all.
